Michael Austin is a Doctor of Osteopathy and an experienced Emergency Room Physician who has provided evaluation, treatment and follow-up care for both physical injuries and traumatic stress for fifteen years. He is a member of the Florida Osteopathic Medical Association, the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation, the American College of Forensic Examiners International, the American Board of Disability Analysts, and the American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress. Dr. Austin was also an Emergency Medicine Physician at MacDill Air Force Base (Tampa, Florida) for three years, attaining the rank of Major after completion of his Air Force active duty. He also served in Operation Desert Shield/Storm as Emergency Room Director and a Physician of General H. Norman Schwartzkopff in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Dr. Austin was involved in the development of the Tampa Bay regional Metropolitan Medical Strike Team and Metropolitan Medical Response System. Dr. Austin is an associate of Corporate Crisis Management Inc.— a company specializing in assisting businesses and organizations to prepare for and manage a crisis or traumatic event through education, training and on-site incident management.

Dr. Austin has a Doctorate in Osteopathy from NOVA Southeastern University at Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida. He did his Rotating Internship at Metropolitan General Hospital in Pinellas Park, Florida. Dr. Austin has completed coursework in numerous topics such as: critical incident stress management, clinical approaches in trauma, war/terrorism research and safety practices, and criminal investigation.
