Lois Martens is a registered nurse in the state of Florida with twenty-two years of experience in emergency room and intensive care nursing. Lois is on the Board of Directors as a working member of Corporate Crisis Management Inc.—a company specializing in assisting businesses and organizations to prepare for and manage a crisis or traumatic event through education, training and on-site incident management.
Lois is an active member of the Community Crisis Support Team of Hillsborough County. She is an experienced responder to critical incidents and has assisted in a number of family, community and onsite traumatic events.
Lois’ years as a trauma center nurse have given her a tremendous insight to daily human tragedies. Like many in emergency medicine, she has experienced firsthand the effects of traumatic stress, and has a great understanding of the challenges that accompany it. Lois brings life skills, knowledge and empathy to her interactions with those exposed to trauma, creating a common understanding that bridges pain with healing. Lois responded as a member of an International Team to the people of Uganda during a wartime epidemic to provide life-saving medical services and compassion.
